In a word, no.
Okay, there are big similarities. I can see why the question would be asked. We’re both middle aged, both mothers. Yes, we both home educated our children.
Is that it? Er, no. There’s more. We both live in a Northern town, we’re both interested in History… We both want to see the History Maps idea become reality, for the same reason. You have to write about what you know, right?
So, she’s me, then? No. There are lots of differences, too. Zoe’s whole approach is different to mine. You’ll notice that I only wrote about someone who made the project happen, whereas Zoe actually made it happen instead.
So, she’s me, as I’d want to be? No! I wouldn’t want her job, for a start. I could not, wouldn’t want to do the travelling she does. But, she’s fundamentally different in her personality, too. More passive, where I’d be active and more active, where I’d be passive.
She’s less confident than me and – I like to think – a bit less articulate. And her family set-up is quite different to mine.
Is that all? No. There is one further, crucial difference.
I do not like cream buns.
