Back to the beginning again

Starting another round of editing, my heart wasn’t in it. Five or six days passed, without me doing any work whatsoever. *Checks date of last blog post..* Okay, two weeks passed. The very thought of tackling yet more editing was depressing.

I had to do something different, switch it up, make it interesting for me to work on again. So, this morning, I converted all three books into PDF files and sent them to my phone and to my middle daughter, who had expressed an interest in reading them.

Once they’re on my phone, I can read them in the queue at the supermarket etc, working wherever I want to. And reading them like that, makes me cringe. Somehow it takes the surroundings in our local Morrison’s, for me to see:

We are rapidly leaving what is now just a road junction, but would have once been a picturesque and possibly quite vibrant settlement in its own right, instead of the nodule on a major transport route it is now reduced to being.

– as the madly convoluted sentence it actually is, even after I’ve removed some of its complexity.

So now I’m home, the laptop is out and I’m back in harness. Hurrah.
