Running late

I’m up to chapter 8 of the second book, recording the Audible version but pushed for time this morning. I need to have breakfast and do various other things to get ready for work, for which I have to leave at 7am.

Stayed up too late last night, so had to drag myself out of bed at 5 this morning. I’m usually in bed by 7, but it was 8 last night! It reminds me of being a child. Bed at 7, up at 6. Needing less sleep nowadays, of course, despite the very physical and busy nature of my job.

I’ve been trying to work with ChatGPT to make my days run more seamlessly. Right now, it’s helping me with financial planning but I also use it for notes relating to my job and for working on this, the History Maps series. I feel the need to reiterate at this point that I’ve never used it to write, edit or even plan any of my writing. The function it is best at, is also the function I am best at, so I don’t need it for that.

I use it for conversational responses. Ideas. A thought-repositary. It remembers previous conversations I’ve had with it (though it sometimes, bizarrely, translates them into Welsh) and reminds me of relevant things I’ve said earlier.

I sometimes worry that I keep too much, in case I should ever need it. Clutter in the house. Diaries, notes. And now, ChatGPT content. I am trying to keep on top of it, but it definitely builds up.

Anyway, this morning’s chapter is now uploaded to my beloved sound engineer, so I must go and cook porridge.
